About Us

What does Open Door believe?

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God. The Bible is the only God-given authority which man possesses. Therefore, all doctrine, faith, hope, and instruction for the church must be based upon and harmonize with the Bible. It is to be read and studied by men and women everywhere. The anointing of the Holy Ghost will give clear understanding to the scriptures. We believe in the one eternal God: infinite in power, holy in attributes and purpose, and possessing absolute indivisible deity. the one true God has revealed himself in Spirit as Father, in flesh as the Son while He walked among men, and in His church today as the Holy Ghost. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God (Col. 1:15-19). For in Him dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him.... (Col. 2:9-10)

Apostolic - Ephesians 2:20 And are built built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.. Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom. On the day of Pentecost, when the church began, Peter opened the door of salvation to all mankind when he preached the gospel that still has the power to save today. Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name Of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)

In the name of Jesus Christ - Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Evangelical - Luke 24:46-49 Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem, And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

We have witnessed and experienced the healing power of Jesus Christ. The Bible says of believers, "They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover." We anoint those who are sick with oil in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ (James 5:14-16) and believe the promise of God for their healing.

One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, Ephesians 4:5 Salvation consists of deliverance from all sin and unrighteousness through the blood of Jesus Christ. The New Testament experience of salvation consists of repentance from sin, water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, after which the Christian is to live a godly life, Acts 2:36-41.

Holiness After we are saved from sin, we are commanded, "Go, and sin no more", John 8:11. We are commanded to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, Titus 2:12, and warned that without holiness no one shall see the Lord, Hebrews 12:14. We must present ourselves as holy unto God, Romans 12:1, cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, II Corinthians 7:1, and separate ourselves from all worldliness, James 4:4. We believe the life of every Christian should be free from sin, immorality and worldliness. We are to be examples of the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Bible says, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lust, we should live soberly, righteously and Godly in this present world." (Titus 2:11-12)

Our Hope
Rapture - Jesus Christ is coming aback to earth in bodily form, just as he went away, Acts 1:11. He will catch away a holy people(His bride, His church) who have accepted redemption through his blood, by birth of water and of the Spirit, and who are found faithful when he comes. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord", I Thessalonians 4:15-17.
